The design on these earrings is photo etched on bi-metal. Etched bi-metal is made by fusing a layer of copper to a layer of silver. The artist created design is applied as a resist to the copper and then etched, thus revealing the silver. This is done while metal is flat. The metal is then formed into 3 dimentional forms by anticlastic hammering. The copper layer is then oxidized to a black-brown patina, and sealed to protect the surface. There are 10 different patterns available in this shape earring, with pendants to match. These earrings should not be worn in a hot shower or swim pool.
